Mohamed Salah spared Liverpool’s blushes with a late penalty spoil to earn them a point against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday evening,
Liverpool missed the chance to go top of the Premier League after they played out to a 1-1 stalemate against Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Prior to this fixture, the Lilywhites only had one win from six games, and the Reds were expected to stroll past their opponents.
It proved to be a different story as Fulham started the game as the better side.
Their early intensity soon paid off after Reid opened the scoring for Fulham via a brilliant strike past Alisson in the 25th minute.
It could have been 2-0 against Liverpool but Fulham saw their penalty appeal chalked off via VAR not long after.
Liverpool dominated play in the second half but couldn’t score that all-important goal. They were gifted a penalty in the 78th minute after Kamara was handled in the area. Salah stepped up to score the resulting penalty and level matters for the Reds.
Liverpool are now at 25 points and remain in second place on goal difference behind Tottenham.
