Real Madrid’s top 3 targets for 2022 revealed

Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland and Paul Pogba are all transfer targets for Real Madrid next summer.

The club’s president, Florentino Perez, has his sights set on a dynamic new strike duo. Despite failing to get a deal done for Mbappe this summer, as well as Paris Saint-Germain’s continued attempts to convince the striker to sign a new contract, he is confident of signing him in 2022. Talks with Haaland, meanwhile, have been ‘positive’ so far.

Perez is also ‘exploring the prospect’ of signing Pogba, who is out of contract at Manchester United at the end of the season. [Marca]

Kounde ‘furious’ over failed Chelsea move

A failed transfer to Chelsea has reportedly left Jules Kounde ‘absolutely furious’ and unwilling to speak to Sevilla.

The Spanish club turned down an offer from Chelsea last week to sign Kounde. The defender isn’t happy and is reportedly refusing to answer phone calls from Sevilla manager Julen Lopetegui and director of football Monchi. [Spanish Football Podcast]

Pjanic leaves Barcelona for Besiktas

Miralem Pjanic has joined Besiktas on loan for the 2021/22 campaign.

The midfielder struggled for opportunities in his first season at Barcelona. He now heads to Turkey in order to revitalize his career, as well as to ease the Catalan club’s salary bill.

Pjanic, who will earn €2.7 million from Besiktas for the season, has reportedly taken a 60% salary reduction. If the Bosnian returns to Camp Nou, he’ll have to accept reduced wages. [RAC – in Catalan]

Aurier to swap Tottenham for Arsenal?

Serge Aurier wants to stay in England and would consider a controversial move to Arsenal to do so.

The 28-year-old defender is a free agent after having his Tottenham contract terminated a year early on Tuesday and would be open to joining the club’s north London rivals for this season. [Sky Sports]

Solskjaer blocked 5 players from Manchester United exits

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer blocked summer exits for Diogo Dalot, Donny van de Beek, Edinson Cavani, Anthony Martial and Anthony Elanga.

The Manchester United boss has opted to keep Dalot as cover for the right-back position. Van de Beek, who had a loan move to Everton on the cards, met the same fate. Thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo’s late arrival, Cavani and Martial didn’t have enough time to seek new clubs.
