Man City see £30m bid for Premier League star rejected

Brighton have rejected a £30 million (€35m) transfer bid from Manchester City for left-back Marc Cucurella.

As Oleksandr Zinchenko closes in on a move to Arsenal, City are on the lookout for a new left-back. Cucurella is the man that their manager, Pep Guardiola, wants. The 23-year-old Catalan is interested in joining the Premier League champions, although he won’t come cheaply.

Brighton want around £50 million (€59m) for Cucurella, which City are unwilling to match at this stage. [The Athletic]

Barcelona to make a last-ditch bid for Kounde

The Blaugrana will make one last attempt to sign Sevilla defender Jules Kounde.

Chelsea are in the hot seat to sign the 23-year-old Frenchman. The Blues have offered Sevilla a €65 million transfer fee and the player a net salary of €12 million. So as things stand, they’ve effectively out-priced Barcelona. [Diario Sport – in Spanish]

The Blues are struggling to get transfer offers for goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, attacker Timo Werner, and striker Michy Batshuayi because of their wage demands.
