Thauvin set for Marseille exit.

Florian Thauvin has agreed to a move to AC Milan amid disruptions regarding his contract situation at Marseille.

The Ligue 1 side have been trying to extend the Frenchman’s stay at the club for quite a while with his current deal due to expire at the end of the season – each time without success.

Thauvin has his heart set on joining Milan, having agreed to a €3 million-a-year deal for four seasons. [TodoFichajes]

Leeds looking at Barca outcast.

Leeds United are showing interest in Riqui Puig, with manager Marcelo Bielsa a keen admirer of the midfielder.

Bielsa appreciates his technical qualities and believes the La Masia, FC Barcelona’s famed academy, graduate’s style of play would be well suited to the Premier League.

Only a single La Liga appearance has been made so far this season by Puig, who is not favored by Ronald Koeman. [Don Balon]

Liverpool holding talks for Ajax defender.

Liverpool have opened talks to secure the transfer of Perr Schuurs from Ajax.

The Premier League champions could sign the Dutchman in the January transfer window as they seek cover for injured center-back pair Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez heading into the second half of the season. 

Schuurs is contracted to Ajax until 2022 and is expected to cost in the range of €30 million. [Corriere Dello Sport]

Chelsea lining up Gimenez move.

Atletico Madrid’s Jose Gimenez is attracting interest from several clubs around Europe, with Chelsea supposedly leading his chase.

The 25-year-old center-back is a key summer target for the Blues, who identify him as a  long-term prospect as they look to further solidify their backline.

Chelsea’s focus is also on extending Thiago Silva’s contract following his bright start after arriving in summer on a free transfer after running down his contract with Paris Saint-Germain. [The Sun]

Donnarumma closing in on Milan renewal.

AC Milan are close to tying down goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma with a new contract.

A base salary of €7 million has been finalized for the Italy international by the Serie A leaders, with the two parties yet to reach an agreement over a release clause.

Negotiations for renewal have been going on for some time with Milan’s reluctance to meet Donnarumma’s wage demands causing the delay. [Calciomercato]
