The Bavarians are set to step up their long-term interest in Denis Zakaria to beat Manchester United to signing the Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder on a free transfer.
Despite Zakaria entering the final six months of his Gladbach contract, Manchester United’s interest has allegedly cooled. Therefore, Bayern could become the new frontrunners.

While the Spanish side still want to sign Anthony Martial on loan, they have lined up Lyon forward Moussa Dembele as an alternative.
Sevilla’s priority is Martial, but talks for a loan deal with Manchester United have not progressed. If things fall through, they’ll pursue Dembele as their ‘main alternative’. [Marca]
Tottenham consider transfer offer for Kessie
Antonio Conte’s side are considering a January move for AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie.
While the 25-year-old Ivorian is available for a free transfer in the summer, Tottenham are wary of competition. Therefore, in order to stop a bidding war, Spurs could try to sign him this month. Doing so would require them to pay AC Milan a transfer fee. [Telegraph – subscription required]

Dembele responds after being shown the Barcelona exit door
Ousmane Dembele has taken to Instagram to fire back at Barcelona, describing attempts to force his exit as ‘blackmail’.
The club’s director of football, Mateu Alemany, has said Barca will try to sell Dembele this month, after it became clear that the Frenchman does not intend to sign a new contract.

Lingard could seal permanent Manchester United exit in January
Manchester United will allow winger Jesse Lingard to leave Old Trafford permanently this month.
The Red Devils would prefer to sell Lingard now rather than lose him for nothing in the summer. Newcastle are interested in doing a transfer deal for the 29-year-old Englishman.

Watford confirm interest in Nigerian winger
Watford manager Claudio Ranieri has confirmed the Hornets want to sign Nigeria winger Samuel Kalu from Bordeaux.
