Barcelona set for last-ditch £60m bid to sign Chelsea target

The Blaugrana could make a last-ditch transfer bid of around £60 million (€70m) to sign Leeds United winger Raphinha.

As things stand, Chelsea are in pole position to land the 25-year-old Brazilian. The Blues have agreed to a deal worth £55 million (€64m) with Leeds. But after selling 10% of their LaLiga TV rights, Barcelona could yet spring a surprise. [Times – subscription required]

De Ligt and Chelsea talks in progress

Talks between Chelsea and Juventus for Matthijs de Ligt are progressing.

De Ligt would be open to a summer transfer to Chelsea. Juventus had wanted the 22-year-old defender’s €120 million release clause to be activated, but appear to have softened their stance. [Telegraph – subscription required]

Tottenham are already in talks for another new player

As Tottenham close in on a deal for Everton forward Richarlison, they already have another signing lined up in Djed Spence.

Spurs are in advanced talks with the 21-year-old right-back’s club, Middlesbrough. The deal will involve an initial transfer fee of £15 million (€17m), plus add-ons. [Sky Sports]

Barcelona make a third unsuccessful bid for Lewandowski

Bayern Munich have rejected a third bid from Barcelona for Robert Lewandowski.

Barcelona allegedly offered a deal worth €45 million for the striker. It would’ve involved an initial transfer fee of €40 million, plus a further €5 million in add-ons. But Bayern want at least €50 million guaranteed for their prized asset. [Bild – in German]
