Barcelona select a replacement for Frenkie de Jong
Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva is Barcelona’s preferred transfer target to replace Frenkie de Jong.
Recently, De Jong has been touted for a move to Manchester United. Barcelona coach Xavi wants to keep the Dutch midfielder. But if De Jong was to leave this summer, Bernardo would be the ideal replacement.

Sterling is unlikely to join Arsenal or Tottenham
Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling doesn’t plan to decide his future until after England’s UEFA Nations League games in June.
The 27-year-old’s contract runs out in 2023. Talks over an extension haven’t begun yet, as his focus lies on Man City’s campaign. That said, if Sterling leaves the Etihad, a transfer to Arsenal and Tottenham is unlikely. He would instead look to join one of Europe’s most decorated clubs. [The Athletic]
Coutinho completes €20m Aston Villa move
The Brazilian midfielder has joined Aston Villa on a permanent deal from Barcelona for €20 million. He has signed a contract until 2026 and taken a considerable wage cut.

Lewandowski makes Bayern Munich decision
Robert Lewandowski has told Bayern Munich that he won’t extend his contract.
The 33-year-old striker, whose current deal ends in 2023, wants a new challenge. Money is not the priority. Barcelona are doing all they can to sign him. He allegedly wants a transfer to Camp Nou, hoping to do it in the summer rather than next year. [Sky Sport – in German]

Club Bruges boss Alfred Schreuder will replace Erik ten Hag as Ajax manager next season. He has signed a two-year contract, which includes an option for a third year.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has said he won’t consider renewing his contract until his current deal is up.

Yarmolenko is set for West Ham exit
Andriy Yarmolenko is set to leave West Ham when his contract expires at the end of June.
Hammers boss David Moyes has allowed Yarmolenko to leave on a free transfer. The 32-year-old Ukrainian winger is one of the club’s highest earners. He has supplied 13 goals and seven assists in 84 appearances following his €20 million arrival from Borussia Dortmund in 2018. [BBC]
