Arsenal interested in Chelsea’s Abraham

Chelsea’s desire to sell Tammy Abraham in the current transfer window has caught Arsenal’s interest, along with some other Premier League clubs.

It’s alleged Chelsea have explored the possibility of using Abraham as part of a deal to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland. They’ve also made him available to Inter Milan and Tottenham, who each have strikers, Romelu Lukaku and Harry Kane respectively, that interest them.

That said, Chelsea would prefer to find a buyer for Abraham. The Blues value the Englishman at £40 million. So if Arsenal are to act on their interest, players may need to be sold first. [Telegraph]

Pellegrini on Tottenham’s radar

AS Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini has become a potential transfer target for Tottenham.

Spurs are interested in making a deal happen, but Pellegrini’s £26 million release clause could be a problem. The 25-year-old Italian’s contract at Roma will expire at the end of next season. [Athletic – subscription required]

Negotiations between the two clubs are in the final stages. AC Milan will pay the attacking midfielder’s parent club a €3 million (£2.6m) loan fee. The Rossoneri also appear to have landed a €22m (£18.8m) buy option, despite Real Madrid’s reported reluctance to sell Diaz.

The Spanish giants, however, do have a €27m (£23.1m) buy-back clause included in the agreement. [Fabrizio Romano]

Ancelotti picks Salah as Mbappe alternative

Mbappe, who has under a year left on his Paris Saint-Germain contract, is hot on Real Madrid’s radar. But the Frenchman is yet to announce a decision on his future, prompting Ancelotti to recommend Salah to Los Blancos president Florentino Perez as an alternative. [Fichajes – in Spanish]

Varane, who will cost £50m, is set to join from Real Madrid as Harry Maguire’s new defensive partner. Trippier, on the other hand, could arrive from Atletico Madrid in a deal worth £18m. The full-back’s arrival may see Aaron Wan-Bissaka move into a more central role as part of a back three. [Daily Mail]

Kluivert to join Nice

After missing pre-season training under new Roma manager Jose Mourinho, Justin Kluivert is to leave Italy.

The 22-year-old is reportedly on his way to Nice after the club’s new manager Christophe Galtier pushed for a deal. The Ligue 1 side and Roma have agreed on a loan deal, with a buy option included. All that’s left is to conclude the player’s personal terms.

Kluivert, who spent last season on loan in Germany at RB Leipzig, will become Nice’s third summer signing after Calvin Stengs and Jean-Clair Todibo. [Fabrizio Romano]
