Arsenal close in on £50m deal for White

The Gunners have entered ‘advanced talks’ with Brighton to complete a transfer deal for Ben White.

Despite Brighton rejecting a £40 million bid last week, Arsenal appear to have bounced back. An improved offer said to be worth around £50m is reportedly on the table. Both clubs are hopeful a deal can be done, with White’s personal terms not expected to be a problem.

Arsenal also remain in ‘positive talks’ with Belgian club Anderlecht for midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga. [Sky Sports]

Grealish to stay at Villa?

Aston Villa remain hopeful that Jack Grealish will stay for next season despite mounting transfer interest.

The 25-year-old has put top clubs on high alert following an impressive array of performances in the Premier League for the last two seasons. Manchester City, Chelsea, and Manchester United are reportedly interested. [The Athletic]

Saliba to leave Arsenal on loan again

The Gunners are set to allow William Saliba to leave on another loan spell.

The 20-year-old joined Nice last season after failing to win a first-team role at Arsenal. He has attracted transfer interest from several clubs, including Premier League sides Newcastle United and Southampton.

French sides Nice, Marseille, Lille, and Rennes, German club Bayer Leverkusen, and two unnamed Italian clubs are also interested. [Footmercato – in French]

Rangers eye loan deal for Chelsea youngster Gilmour

Steven Gerrard is reportedly hopeful he can convince Billy Gilmour, a boyhood Rangers fan, to head to Ibrox on loan next season.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel could allow the 20-year-old out on loan to get some first-team football under his belt. Premier League clubs Wolves and Norwich City have both expressed an interest.

A return to his native Scotland, however, could prove a tempting prospect for Gilmour. [Daily Record]

Odegaard makes Real Madrid decision

Martin Odegaard has ended talk of a return to Arsenal by confirming plans to spend next season with Real Madrid.

The 22-year-old, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Arsenal, hopes for improved opportunities in Spain under new Los Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti.

Nuno becomes the new favorite for Tottenham job

Former Wolves coach Nuno Espirito Santo has become the latest favorite to take over at Tottenham. Reports had previously linked him with Crystal Palace and Everton.
