With the future of Jorginho at Chelsea still rather uncertain, his agent, João Santos, has given yet another update on his client’s situation.

In another twist to the Jorginho saga, it appears the midfielder will be at the club for next season at the very least.

His current deal runs down in 2023 and he has managed to retain his place in the Blues’ starting lineup even after Thomas Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard in January.

Believe it or not, a recent study put Jorginho as the most performing outfield player of 2021 so far.

Indeed, he has been one of the Blues’ consistent performers but transfer news regarding the player have not followed the same suit.

Without exaggeration, agent João Santos has given about five different interviews on Jorginho in the past two months.

On March 24th, Santos admitted the former Napoli star return to the Naples club is. In his words, he said it was a possibility.

Last week, the same agent also claimed Jorginho is open to the idea of a Serie A return in general.

In yet another interview, João Santos has perhaps put an end to transfer speculation regarding the Blues midfielder.

He said to TuttoMercatoWeb: “He has a two-year contract with Chelsea. He thinks about playing the European Championship. And then the World Cup in Qatar. He will remain at Chelsea, one hundred percent,” Santos said.

When pressed if Jorginho will renew his contract at Chelsea, his agent responded: “We will talk about it in a few months.”
