Manchester United have been handed a fresh injury blow after Anthony Martial suffered a knee injury on international duty with France.
Manchester United have been handed an injury concern over Anthony Martial. The Frenchman limped off against Kazakhstan.
The 25-year-old was handed a starting berth by Didier Deschamps in Les Bleus’ second World Cup Qualifying match on Sunday.
However, Martial was forced off with a knee problem in the second half after falling awkwardly under a challenge inside the penalty area.
The 25-year-old received lengthy treatment and continued for five minutes as he tried to shake off the knock, before eventually being replaced by Kylian Mbappe.
The injury will concern Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as United prepare to face Brighton & Hove Albion after the international break.
As per the Manchester United website, the forward picked up a suspected knee injury but there is no timeline yet as to when he would be available for action.
Martial is unlikely to be available for France when they face Bosnia and Herzegovina on Wednesday.
It is particularly worrying for the Red Devils as the forward is only recently back from a hip injury sustained during United’ s first leg Europa League tie against AC Milan.
