The former Chelsea manager is expected to take charge at Goodison Park.
Frank Lampard has reportedly urged Everton to hijack Crystal Palace’s move for Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek.
The 43-year-old Englishman has been out of work for a year after being sacked as Chelsea manager last January. He is now set to replace the fired Rafael Benitez at Goodison Park. Various reports have claimed that Everton ‘offered’ him their vacant managerial position on Friday evening.
No official word is out yet, but the transfer rumor mill is already in motion.

Two clubs competing for Van de Beek
According to Fabrizio Romano, Lampard wants Everton to sign Van de Beek on loan. This means the Toffees are now in a two-horse race with Palace for the Netherlands international.
With Monday’s transfer deadline fast approaching, Palace plan to step up their attempts to land their target. The Eagles and United have been in talks since Wednesday about a six-month loan deal and want a swift agreement. Any deal, though, won’t include a buy option.
Dennis Bergkamp – the father of Van de Beek’s girlfriend Estelle – has allegedly contacted his former Arsenal teammate Patrick Vieira, who coaches Palace, about a deal so his Dutch compatriot can get back to regular football.
This season alone, Van de Beek made just eight appearances in the Premier League without a single start in any of them.
