The Blues are in Spain for the opening game of their Champions League quarter-final contest with Real Madrid.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has welcomed Thiago Silva, N’Golo Kante, and Mason Mount back for Wednesday’s trip to Real Madrid.

The west Londoners welcome the trio back to the fold in time for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday at the Santiago Bernabeu.

“They are all fit,” Lampard said in a pre-match press conference on Tuesday evening.

“They are all in the squad. The three players you mentioned are good and are here.”

‘N’Golo is a special player’

Kante has played just four Premier League games all season. The 32-year-old has spent the bulk of the campaign out with a hamstring injury. His long absence has raised concerns about whether he can rediscover his best form.

“N’Golo is a special player,” Lampard said of the midfielder.

“I understand what you mean in terms of consistency and the problems N’Golo has had with injuries. But in terms of coming back and playing at a really high level, I have witnessed him do it. He did it for me in the Super Cup against Liverpool for me a few years ago.

“He passed a fitness test, hadn’t trained in a long time, and was the best player on the pitch for 120 minutes. I think he has the capacity to do it because he’s a special player.”
