The Everton star has attracted interest from several clubs due to his solid performances last season.

Frank Lampard has insisted Everton have no intention of selling Anthony Gordon ahead of the next season.

Gordon developed into a regular starter at Goodson Park last season, displaying impressive form under both Rafael Benitez and Lampard.

The 22-year-old featured in more Premier League games than any other Everton player last season. In his 35 league appearances, Gordon made 35 goalscoring chances, sitting behind Demarai Gray and Alex Iwobi with 42 and 36 chances, respectively.

Everton saw Richarlison join Tottenham earlier this summer. But the Merseyside club have no intention of selling Gordon.

Speaking to the Toffees’ website, Lampard spoke about the youngster becoming his team’s new number 10.

“He’s worked for it, you have to earn the number 10,” Lampard said. “With the 10, it has a bit of magic to it, a bit of flare and Anthony’s got that, but he’s got it in his own style.

“I don’t want him to be doing pirouettes on the halfway line, we need him doing what he was doing last year, plus goals and assists, which Anthony is so hungry to do.

“He’s earned it, absolutely. A link to the crowd, a link to the fans, a local boy – he gives everything, a great talent.

“He’s going nowhere, he’s our player. That was a hugely important thing for me, he’s the sort of player we want to build to go forward with and I’m delighted that he’s got his number 10 but now I want him to continue to earn it.”

Tottenham and Newcastle have both shown interest in signing Gordon this summer. However, it seems they need to wait at least another season to sign the young midfielder.
