Les Bleus will have to play without two key players against Croatia.

N’Golo Kante and Lucas Hernandez will not be able to play for France in their upcoming match against Croatia.

Having collected only one point from their past three games, Les Blues have slipped to fourth spot in the Group A1 standings.

Ahead of their must-win clash against Croatia, France will have to deal with the absence of two key men. Kante will not play due to his knee injury, while Hernandez leaves the national team camp to join his partner, who is due to give birth.

A 1-1 draw against Austria on Saturday worsened France’s situation in the tournament. Didier Deschamps’ side were behind for most of the game. But a late equalizer from Kylian Mbappe rescued a point for the World champions.

“We did not win, we didn’t take what we wanted before the game,” Mbappe said after the game.

“But we will work to try to win on Monday [against Croatia].”

Despite France’s underwhelming results, Deschamps remains unconcerned about his side’s form.

“From what we were able to do, I am happy,” he told reporters. “The players should have been rewarded by the result. In the match, we have done very good things.

“Austria puts a lot of commitment, intensity. We had total control in the second half. We certainly lacked efficiency, it’s a shame compared to what we did in the second half.”
