The Brazilian star claimed he and Lionel Messi went through “hell” during their spells at PSG.
Former Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo has admitted the club failed in supporting Neymar and Lionel Messi.
The former Barcelona duo left PSG during the summer transfer window as Messi joined Inter Miami and Neymar moved to Al Hilal. Since then, both players have revealed that they didn’t enjoy their time at Parc des Princes.
“People, they need to feel comfortable. These players need a state of good spirits, they need to feel support, they need to be recognised,” Leonardo, who worked at PSG from 2019 to 2022, told Brazilian outlet Ge.
“And the ones who have do that are the club, us, and the coaches.”
Neymar spent six years at PSG after joining the club from Barcelona in 2017. The Al Hilal star opened up on Messi’s final year at PSG in an interview with Globo Esporte earlier this week.
“I was very happy for the year he had, but at the same time very sad, because he lived both sides of the coin,” Neymar said.
“He went to heaven with the Argentina team, won everything in recent years, and with Paris he lived hell, we lived through hell, both he and I.”
