Former Milan and Juve coach Alberto Zaccheroni has shared his thoughts on why Zlatan Ibrahimovic is more influential than Cristiano Ronaldo.

Cristiano Ronaldo needs no introduction and is the best in the world according to many.

CR7 has gained even more respect because he continues to deliver despite his age. Another player who falls into this category is Milan’s, Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The big Swede might be 39 but has continued to show he can perform at top level. The latest indication of this was his brace in the Milan derby that secured the win for the Rossoneri.

Many feel Zlatan is unlucky not to have won the Ballon d’Or in his career. Ex-Milan and Juventus coach Alberto Zaccheroni shares the same thought and even went on to say the big Swede is more influential than Ronaldo.

“I have coached great champions in my career, from [Oliver] Bierhoff to [George] Weah up to Adriano but the only regret I have is that I never trained [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic,” Zaccheroni said as quoted by Football-Italia.

“He is eternal and I still don’t understand why he never won the Ballon d’Or.”

“In Italy, he has shifted the balance more than Ronaldo.”

“It is no coincidence that many young players have grown exponentially since his arrival.”

“He doesn’t just score, he transmits confidence to all his teammates, carrying the team on his shoulders in difficult moments.”
