PSG’s drawn-out search for Galtier’s replacement is about to end.

Luis Enrique is reportedly in “advance talks” with Paris Saint-Germain to take charge as their next manager.

Former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann was close to accepting PSG’s offer to become their next manager. However, a deal collapsed after the two parties couldn’t reach an agreement last week.

PSG have now moved fast to secure a move for their next managerial target.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Enrique has already accepted PSG’s initial offer. Talks are reportedly ongoing over Enrique’s “staff and contract clauses” at the French side.

Spain’s underwhelming World Cup campaign in Qatar saw Enrique get sacked from La Roja. Despite having offers from the likes of Chelsea and Napoli, the 53-year-old stayed out of work during the second half of the last season.

PSG are yet to officially announce the sacking of Christopher Galtier. But L’Equipe claims the club’s football advisor Luis Campos has already informed Galtier about their decision. PSG will reportedly pay a severance package worth €6m to the former Lille manager.

If there won’t be another twist to PSG’s managerial search, Enrique will become the club’s eighth permanent boss since their Qatari takeover in 2011.

Following the end of the international break, PSG will face Al Nassr in their first pre-season friendly on July 25. The Parisians will then travel to Japan, where they will take on Cerezo Osaka three days later.
