Former Barcelona forward Hristo Stoichkov has delivered his own verdict on Lionel Messi and his future at the club.
Lionel Messi shocked the football world last summer when he made his intention known to leave Barcelona.
After tussles between club and player, the Argentine finally decided to stay put at the Camp Nou to let peace reign.
Messi came close to leaving Barcelona and there were reports of a move to Manchester City already in the pipeline.
That talk is off the grid for now but it’s only a matter of time before it resurfaces.
Messi has less than a year left on his current contract and he is allowed to talk to clubs about a potential deal.
Barcelona have not been their dominating selves over the past seasons and there are thoughts that their captain could finally call it quits.
Ex-Barca star Hristo Stoichkov doesn’t agree with the above and can only see Messi ending his career at Barcelona.
“I think Messi is going to retire at Barcelona,” Stoichkov told Radio MARCA.
“There has been a lot of talk about him, but I don’t believe 99.9 percent of it.”
