After the response from PSG over Kylian Mbappe’s offer made by Real Madrid, Florentino Perez had a very specific response.
Florentino Perez already reacted to PSG’s accusations and claims after the offer they made for Kylian Mbappe. To those who don’t know, this offer reached a staggering €160 million but the French giants weren’t happy with it. First of all, they paid €180 million for the player when they convinced him to leave AS Monaco in 2017. Since then, Mbappe has made himself indispensable for both his club and his national team. He is destined to become the player who takes the lead that Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo will leave after they retire.
In the French Ligue 1 alone, Kylian Mbappe has been the top goalscorer in three seasons since he started his career in 2016. It is obvious that PSG would ask for at least what they paid for him initially, but they also have the right to ask for more than that. The problem here is that Florentino Perez might not move further than the €180 million PSG paid for Kylian out of dignity. This negotiation seems like it might take all week to be resolved but Real Madrid will remain calm.
Florentino’s response to PSG’s comments.
Leonardo effectively declared war on Florentino Perez by stating his actions were almost illegal with Mbappe. However, the Real Madrid president has always kept himself in line and respecting the French club’s wishes. In fact, he was quite flabbergasted by Leonardo’s statements but not that surprised. According to Marca director, Jose Felix Diaz, Perez wasn’t happy with these accusations. But at the end of the day, the bottom line is that PSG agreed they would listen to a much bigger offer for one of their best players.
We will have to wait a few more hours to see if Real Madrid will go further than their initial offer. PSG needs to remember that not accepting this first offer puts them at risk of Mbappe leaving for free in January. They can’t afford to make huge demands considering their dire situation. For now, everybody at Real Madrid remains calm because they know they are controlling the situation.
