Hansi Flick has been named Germany’s ‘Coach of the Year’ for 2020 owing to his efforts in Bayern Munich’s 2019/20 treble-winning campaign.

Bayern Munich were in disarray when they lost to Eintracht Frankfurt and relieved Niko Kovac from his managerial duties. Hansi Flick was brought on as an interim replacement as Die Roten sorted out the next candidate.

The Allianz Arena’s hierarchy are not sounding replacements with Flick given the role in April. It was deserved given their remarkable turnaround that began with a 4-0 thrashing of Borussia Dortmund.

Bayern have managed to lay waste to everyone who has stood in their way. The Bundesliga, DFB Pokal and Champions League triumphs have been achieved in their remarkable run.

He joined the illustrious company of Sir Alex Ferguson, Pep Guardiola, Jose Mourinho, Jupp Heynckes and Luis Enrique.

His efforts at the helm of the Bavarian side have been recognized as he was hailed as Germany’s ‘Coach of the Year’ for 2020 with 242 votes. He defeated the challenge of Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp (164) and Freiburg’s Christian Streich (40).

It is a deserved appreciation with Bayern rampant in all competitions. The record Bundesliga champions are unbeaten in 30 matches in all competitions, winning 21 on the trot.
