The Brazilian had featured in all of previous 27 league games for the Reds but was surprisingly left out of the squad to face the Londoners.
Jurgen Klopp has confirmed Roberto Firmino was forced to miss Liverpool’s match against Fulham due to injury.
Firmino’s injury only intensifies the injury crisis for Liverpool, who already had a number of their key players on the treatment table.
The striker has made 25 starts and come off the bench twice as he had featured in all of previous 27 league games prior to Sunday.
Virgil van Dijk Joe Gomez remain long-term absentees while Jordan Henderson, Joel Matip, and Ozan Kabak are also out injured.
Alisson Becker, Diogo Jota, Fabinho, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Thiago Alcantara, and James Milner, meanwhile, have all faced spells on the sidelines.
Klopp made a total of seven changes to the team that lost 1-0 to Chelsea for their latest domestic fixture.
“Two of the changes had to be made because of little injuries to Ozan Kabak and Roberto Firmino,” the Reds boss explained the line-up shake-up, speaking to Sky Sports before the match.
“The other changes we thought made absolute sense. We are in an intense period and we’ve got fresh legs back to try and give Fulham a proper fight.”
