Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic might leave the Italian side on a big-money move next summer.

The next summer will see three of the best strikers of the world decide on their futures. While Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland remain the biggest transfer targets in the market, another striker has recently stolen the headlines.

Dusan Vlahovic has attracted interest from several elite clubs across Europe with his performances this season. The Serbia international has scored 18 goals in his 22 appearances for Fiorentina across all competitions.

Arsenal have reportedly intensified their efforts to sign Vlahovic in recent weeks. However, Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso expects the player to acknowledge the club’s role in his development.

Speaking in an interview with Financial Times, Commisso said:

“He developed here. And he should give recognition, whatever happens, to the club that got him to where he is.”

He added: “The more I live here, with this crazy sport, the more I realise how screwed up it is.”

A few Italian sources have claimed Vlahovic will not join Arsenal since he wants to play in the Champions League. On Wednesday, the Gunners coach Mikel Arteta spoke about his chances of signing the best players in the market.

Asked whether he sees Vlahovic as a realistic target for Arsenal, he told the reporters:

“I don’t know. Historically this club has always been targeting the best players in the world. And the best players in the world were always interested in coming here.

“And I can say that that situation hasn’t changed. So every time I have spoken to any player they were so willing to come.

“I haven’t faced any other situation and that’s one of our biggest powers, and our capacity to get the attention of people to come and join our club is something that is a big advantage for us.”
