The Rotterdam-based club has won its first league championship in the Netherlands since 2017.
On Sunday, Feyenoord secured their first Dutch championship title since 2017 with a dominant 3-0 victory over Go Ahead Eagles.
Arne Slot’s side clinched the championship with two games to spare. The win sparked wild celebrations in the port city, as fans rejoiced in their triumphant return. It was the club’s 16th Dutch league title, and its second in the last two decades.
Two quick goals from Oussama Idrissi and Santiago Gimenez set them on their way on Sunday. Igor Paixao added a third in the 54th minute to put Feyenoord in full control of their own destiny against Go Ahead Eagles.
Feyenoord have now secured 79 points in 32 games. Even if their closest competitors, PSV Eindhoven, win all three of their remaining matches, they can only reach a maximum of 77 points.
The Pride of South has only lost once all season, winning 24 times and drawing on seven occasions.
Next up for Feyenoord is a trip to FC Emmen this coming Sunday before they wrap their season up with a home game against Vitesse on May 28.
