The Spanish midfielder is reluctant to leave the club amid interest from the Premier League.

Ferran Torres is reportedly leaning toward rejecting Aston Villa’s transfer offer ahead of the next season.

Barcelona look to improve their difficult financial situation by selling a number of players this summer. Ansu Fati emerged as the number one option to leave Camp Nou this summer.

The Catalans reportedly planned to send the youngster to Wolves on a swap deal with Ruben Neves. However, Fati’s reluctance to leave Barca saw the Portuguese star join Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal.

Torres is another candidate to complete a move away from Barcelona. However, it seems he is also not keen to switch clubs in the current transfer window.

According to 90min, Aston Villa have already held talks with Barca over a possible move for Torres. The English club have reportedly shifted their focus toward signing Torres after a failed attempt to bring Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams to Villa Park.

Reports in Spanish media claim Torres’ decision to stay at Camp Nou has angered the club, who hope to raise funds for their priority transfer plans.

Earlier this week, Torres told reporters of his future: “I’m just focused on what’s mine, training, taking advantage of the pre-season that I couldn’t do last year [due to injury] and from here on, showing that I’m a great footballer. In the next few days you will have news.”
