The former Manchester City star has broken his silence about the transfer rumors linking him with a summer move to Aston Villa.
FC Barcelona forward Ferran Torres has played down reports of a potential summer transfer to Premier League club Aston Villa.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Aston Villa hold an interest in Torres. Although nothing is set in stone just yet, the Catalan paper suggests that Unai Emery’s side is considering a loan deal. The agreement may include a €25 million option to buy.
Torres, who is currently on holiday in his hometown of Foios in Valencia, spoke to the media on Friday. He addressed his future in Spain and, more specifically, in Barcelona.
“Today, I am at Barca, but football takes many turns,” said the 23-year-old as quoted on Mundo Deportivo.
“I have the phone on airplane mode, on July 10, I will open it.”
While Torres may not know what the future holds, one thing is for sure: he is determined to attack pre-season “like a bull” and impress as much as possible.
So, whether Aston Villa make a move for Torres, Barca fans can rest assured of one thing. The Spain international is passionate about his game and is ready to take on any challenge that comes his way.
