Bruno Fernandes has given his assessment of Manchester United after their shock defeat to Istanbul Basaksehir in the Champions League.

Bruno Fernandes admits Manchester United were left stunned after the defeat at the hands of Istanbul Basaksehir.

The Red Devils came into that game following a 1-0 defeat to Arsenal. Many expected them to record a big win as a sort of immediate reaction.

But it was not to be so. The Turkish side raced to a two-goal lead in the first half. Martial was able to grab one back before the break but the Turkish side would hold on to their lead and closed out United to yet another defeat.

United take on Everton at the weekend and Fernandes says they are already looking forward to that game. However, he admits the defeat to Basaksehir has the United dressing room rattled.

“After two defeats it’s hard to think or say something about this,” he said as quoted by the Mirror.

“But we need to look one week ago everyone said we’re going well and doing amazing games.

“We won against Newcastle, PSG, we beat Leipzig and we drew against Chelsea, but the points we have in the league is not the points we want.”

“Today was important to win to be comfortable in the table.”

“But now it’s the same, we need to go for every game to try and win and it will not be different now in the Champions League, we’re in a good position.”

Fernandes continued: “In the league we’re not in a good position, we need to do much better and we need to do something in the next game.”
