A young forward and another talented midfielder are those who the Portuguese believes are destined for big things.
Manchester United youngsters James Garner and Anthony Elanga have been backed to have a “brilliant future” by the club’s star player Bruno Fernandes.
Garner, who spent the last season on loan at Championship clubs Watford and Nottingham Forest, has featured in all three pre-season games.
Elanga, meanwhile, was started two of the warm-up fixtures while made a substitute appearance in one.
The latter particularly has been able to make the most of his chances, having found the back of the net in United’s 4-2 win over Queen Park Rangers as well as in the 2-2 draw with Brentford.
Quizzed which young talents have impressed him at Man United, Fernandes told the club media: “I think we know some of them already.
“Jimmy Garner, I think is a really good player, I really like him and the way he kicks the ball. He’s really aggressive off the ball too.
“Elanga was already playing with us and this pre-season he has been brilliant. He’s a nice kid, works hard and is really humble and I think he’s deserving of everything that’s happening to him.
“I see a brilliant future for him and Jimmy too, and also for all the other kids.”
