Bruno Fernandes believes that Europa League glory could inspire Manchester United for Premier League success next season.
Bruno Fernandes fired Manchester United to the Europa League last-four stage by converting a spot-kick against FC Copenhagen at RheinEnergieStadion earlier this week.
The Portuguese midfielder has been a breath of fresh air for United ever since his arrival in January. Despite the short spell, he already appears to be a leader on the pitch and has on several occasions been the difference-maker for his side.
The 25-year old missed out on the chance to win his first trophy in his new colors as he was unable to prevent Chelsea from knocking his side out in the FA Cup semi-finals.
However, he still has the chance to mark his debut season at Old Trafford with a silverware, with being two just wins away from lifting the Europa League trophy.
And Fernandes feels Europa League success will boost their chances in the Premier League title charge in the coming season.
“I think we need to keep progressing and we need to start the league with the mentality to win,” Fernandes noted, according to Goal.
“We know we play for a big club with big aspirations. Also the players, we have big aspirations and we need to win some trophies.
“Of course, the Premier League is one of the trophies we want to win and I think to win the Europa League would be good for the mentality of winning trophies and fighting with the top clubs. For next season, if we can win this, it will be important.”
