The Red Devils failed to hold onto all three points in their latest league fixture – a six-goal thriller at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Bruno Fernandes has called on Manchester United to “defend with everything” after their 3-3 stalemate against Everton.

Man United carried a healthy 2-0 lead into the break, courtesy of Edinson Cavani’s header from point-blank range and an out-of-the-world right-footed strike from Fernandes.

Determined to give a fight, Everton leveled things up just 12 minutes into the second half. Scott McTominay gave the Red Devils the lead once again but the Toffees snatched a late, late equalizer through Dominic Calvert-Lewin to force a share of exploits.

The goal at minute 90+5 could have been avoided had Harry Maguire, who Calvert-Lewin on, had shown a better positional awareness.

Fernandes told MUTV on the last-gasp equalizer: “It is really bad and you can’t concede goals like that because from a full 50 yards they are a long way from our goal.

“You can’t concede this kind of goals from that. We have to be more focused and we have to be ready and we have to be stronger. We have to defend our goal with everything.”

“I wish we had played a little bit worse in the second half and maybe don’t concede the goals and score more.

“In the second half when we scored the third goal we have to understand that we have to not give away nothing, not to give them chances, and to keep trying to score and press them.

“We don’t do that and unfortunately we concede the goal in the last few seconds.”
