Bruno Fernandes insists he cannot control his urge of making forward runs despite being warned against it by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Bruno Fernandes took the Premier League by storm after completing a €55 million move to Manchester United from Sporting Lisbon in January.
The Portuguese midfielder’s exploits, which saw him score 8 goals and 7 assists, was fundamental to the Red Devils attaining Champions League qualification.
Apart from goal contribution, the 25-year old brings creativity, leadership, and an aura that lifts the morale of the entire team – and these are the main factors for him become a darling among the fans.
He is seen making constant runs up and down the pitch the entire match, due to which he often looked tired in the last few matches of 2019/20.
And Fernandes says he cannot help but make runs into the final third of the pitch as he is guided by instinct while doing so.
“I talk already with the manager and he says to me a lot of times ‘sometimes you do so many runs and some runs aren’t for you – you need to shout someone else to run, because after you are tired and, when you take the ball, you will not be fresh’,” he told the official club website.
“But it’s instinct, it’s part of my game. I can’t control this. I’m like this and I want to help the team every time. In the game, you don’t think, you just run. For me, that’s enough.”
