FC Barcelona has a master plan for Leo Messi if he eventually decides to remain at FC Barcelona after 2021, Jordi Farre explains.

FC Barcelona already has several candidates for the new presidency that have Leo Messi at the top of their priorities. One of the candidates is Jordi Farre, the man who pushed the ‘Vote of no confidence’ against Josep Maria Bartomeu. He has an ambitious plan that TyC Sports reported through a series of quotes.

Basically, he wants to offer Messi the chance to extend his contract until he wants to retire. He also wants to offer the Argentine his chance to play his last year as a professional with Newell’s Old Boys. This is Leo’s childhood club from Rosario, Argentina. But the most important part of this plan has to do with the role Messi will play at the club after he retires.

Farre wants to secure Messi at the club until the day he dies. Although he didn’t specify the capacity in which the star would remain, he did compare the Argentine to Michael Jordan. We are unclear if he meant Jordan’s relationship with Nike because he might not recall how MJ finished his career with the Chicago Bulls.

Farre’s ambitions with Leo Messi.

In a statement picked up by TyC Sports, Farre revealed his entire plan for Leo Messi. That is only if he decides to stay because we still don’t know if this will happen.

“Leo will play here for as long as he wants. I believe we have to create an open contract for him to decide the moment he wants to retire. We will be pleased if he asks us to play at Newell’s for one season and return to never leave Barcelona again. In life, you always have to be grateful. We are not going to wait to speak with Leo’s father. The idea is to start working now in order to reach the elections with the conviction that he will stay at the club.

“We have a whole life project mapped out for him. If we win the elections, which we will, Leo will stay at the club for as long as he wants. He needs to remain as the club’s most prominent image, whether as an honorary president or a club ambassador. We are going to make him win so much money. There is also an economic project to merge the Messi and Barcelona brands together. But first, I need to explain all of this to him in person. It’s an incredible project. We have the capacity to transform Messi into the new Michael Jordan.”
