It’s time to see what FC Barcelona has been doing in the current transfer window, there’s been a lot of movement from Joan Laporta today.

FC Barcelona has been very quiet during the final days of the summer transfer window but they finally made some movement today. In fact, they are planning to move at least three players away from the Catalan club. If they manage to do this, they will ultimately sell around €70 million they might use to buy a striker for the squad. First of all, Sport reported that the Catalan club finally reached an agreement to sell Ilaix Moriba to RB Leipzig for €18 million.

They were negotiating with Tottenham Hotspur for €20 million but the player’s intention was to play in the German Bundesliga. An agreement was finally reached earlier today and the player will officially leave the Blaugranas between today and tomorrow. Contrary to what Barcelona expected, they failed to secure Miralem Pjanic’s exit to Juventus for €20 million. However, Sevilla FC is very interested in signing the Bosnian midfielder. They would even be willing to pay up to €22 million for his transfer but nothing is set in stone yet.

Barcelona’s potential biggest transfer of the summer.

Sport also reported that Tottenham Hotspur is trying to sign one of their most recent additions to the club for far more of what they paid. Emerson arrived at the club for €9 million earlier in the summer but the Spurs are pushing hard to buy him. The final price is €30 million and the left-back already agreed to terms with the London club. After at least two of these deals completely closed, FC Barcelona already secured €48 million with €22 million still pending but very close to completion.

Joan Laporta still won’t be able to find a new club for other players like Samuel Umtiti or Antoine Griezmann. But at least he has been able to get some liquidity for these other players in order to help the club’s dire financial situation. We still need to see if they are willing to go after another transfer before the end of the window tomorrow.
