It’s time to take a look at the FC Barcelona vs Dynamo Kyiv player ratings for the Champions League match at Camp Nou Stadium.
FC Barcelona received a relatively easy visit from Dynamo Kyiv this evening at Camp Nou Stadium. The Ukrainian squad was coming with a major coronavirus problem after several of their players tested positive last week. It was an ideal moment for the Catalan club to prove they are strong in the Champions League and score a good number of goals. However, the development of this match was nothing in line with what everybody expected.
Despite winning with a 2-1 result, Dynamo Kyiv was close to even winning this match if Marc-Andre ter Stegen hadn’t intervened. Also, youngster Nescheret made his debut as Dynamo’s goalkeeper and had an impressive debut at 17-years-old. In the end, Barcelona finished the match asking for the time against a club that was filled with important absent players.
How did the match progress?
During the first half, FC Barcelona got an early penalty awarded that Lionel Messi scored from the spot without a problem. All five goals scored by the Argentine this season came from a penalty shot. This early advantage allowed FC Barcelona to somewhat manage the first half, but the other forwards weren’t on their best form.
Antoine Griezmann had another clear shot with no goalkeeper that he completely bottled. Pedri sent another shot to the bar and the squad was clearly not at the level Koeman expects. During the second half, Gerard Pique managed to score the goal that relaxed the rest of the players a little more. But Tsygankov pulled one back for Dynamo with 15 minutes left on the clock.
The final moments of the game gave Barcelona a victory they only deserved due to Ter Stegen’s impressive saves. Germany’s second goalie returned from his injury in perfect form. Regardless of the poor sensations, Barcelona already has 9 out of 9 points in their group. Not bad for this competition.
