The recent rumors about his possible transfer suggest that Kylian Mbappe could play for Liverpool or Real Madrid but experts doubt it.

Kylian Mbappe is widely considered the footballer to buy next summer by clubs such as Real Madrid or Liverpool. Recent reports talk about the French youngster bracing himself to be subject to a nasty battle between the two clubs.

On one side, Kylian admires both Jürgen Klopp and Zinedine Zidane but he feels one is more successful than the other. Despite their impressive roster in recent years, it’s safe to say that Real Madrid is not the same club they used to be.

Only a player like Mbappe can take them back to the top of the world but the player has other options. Liverpool is the most valued club in the world, where all footballers want to be at the moment in order to experience the highest level.

However, not everybody feels that Mbappe will leave PSG that easily. The French giants have a big reputation of mistreating their players when they request to leave and experts fear this might be the case.

Letting Mbappe leave won’t be easy.

French transfer expert Jonathan Johnson discussed the situation on a Sky Sports program that paints a picture of what Mbappe could go through.

“There’s been a longstanding interest in Mbappe from Liverpool and Real Madrid,” Johnson explained.

“However, I don’t see PSG giving Mbappe up easily. I think if they need to they would probably allow him to enter the final 12 months of his contract in a bid to try to persuade him to extend his stay with the club, particularly based on their performance in the Champions League last season.

“Kylian Mbappe is the future for this PSG project and I just don’t see them giving him up without a fight. I don’t think either of Real Madrid or Liverpool would be able to pay what PSG would even consider just to go to the table and negotiate next summer.

“With the coronavirus situation looking like it’s going to be here to stay for at least the next six to eight months, I think it’s going to be very difficult for any club to be able to enter into negotiations with PSG so I think more signs point to a contract extension making sense for Mbappe than it does angling for a move to a Liverpool or a Real Madrid.”
