Emmanuel Petit has named two signings from Bayern Munich that would be an ideal fit for Arsenal.

Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka would be great additions to the Arsenal squad, according to former Gunners midfielder Emmanuel Petit.

Petit, who played for Arsenal between 1997 and 2000, reckons Mikel Arteta’s team needs more experience. He thinks Kimmich and Goretzka might be up to the challenge of filling this role. The pair have been mainstays at Bayern Munich for many years, winning the Champions League and a host of domestic honors.

“In my opinion, this is a team that needs experience,” Petit told Compare.Bet.

“I know they want to buy young players with room to improve and I can understand that, but I think they need players that know how to win and have experience in big games.

“The main two players I would target if I was Arsenal would be Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka. They are both incredible players with huge experience who have both been at Bayern for a while and would maybe like a new challenge.

“Goretzka has played at such a high level for so long and is still only 28, and I think Kimmich would be great for Arsenal, even if the price tag may be a bit expensive.”

Last summer, Arsenal signed Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber, Kai Havertz, and David Raya.

There have been rumors circulating that the Gunners could try and sign a midfielder in January because of Thomas Partey’s ongoing injury troubles. One name on the list of possible targets is Real Sociedad man Martin Zubimendi.
