Arsenal claimed an impressive 3-1 win over Leicester City, and Alexandre Lacazette believes his side were deserved winners.

Alexandre Lacazette was pleased with his side’s response and overall performance as they edged Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Sunday.

The Gunners went behind just six minutes into the clash as Youri Tielemans fired a low shot past Bernd Leno. However, a comeback was on the cards.

David Luiz headed home a free-kick before Alexandre Lacazette converted a penalty just on the stroke of half-time. It was the eighth Premier League goal of the season for the Frenchman.

Nicolas Pepe then rounded off the scoring in the second half as the visitors recorded a 3-1 victory over the Foxes. It was their second win in six Premier League matches.

Arsenal still have a chance at securing a European spot this term, and Lacazette says the Gunners are on the right path.

“It’s really good. We want to get back to the top positions in the league, as high as possible,” he said as per the club’s website after the game.

“We know we had to do some consecutive wins to come back, and today we really wanted to win. We did it well, I think.”

“The reaction after the goal we conceded. Everyone kept their focus, we stayed with the gameplan and when everyone’s like this, it’s easier to win.”

A number of Arsenal players have stepped up their game over recent weeks and Lacazette says it couldn’t have come at a better time.

“I think it is important that everyone plays well. We talked about the younger players who played really well and helped the team, as well as senior players we need to be ready to be good. We don’t want to have to rely on the younger players, when everyone is focused it is easier for Arsenal.”

The win also meant Arsenal claimed their first away win against a top-three Premier League team since 2015.
