European teams have discovered their group-stage opponents for next summer’s tournament.
The final draw for the 2024 European Championship took place in Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie hall. With the exception of three playoff spots, the other 21 participants in Euro 2024 discovered their opponents on Saturday.
The hosts Germany were drawn with Scotland, Hungary, and Switzerland in Group A of the competition. However, it is Group B, who can be confidently named as the tournament’s “Group of Death”.
Spain were the first team to find itself in this group from the first pot. La Roja were then followed by World Cup runner-ups Croatia and defending European champions Italy. Albania were unfortunate enough to be given the underdog role in Group B.
Another set of exciting group-stage matches is set to be played in Group D, where France compete against Netherlands, Austria, and a playoff-winning side (Poland/Wales/Finland/Estonia).
