After scoring a hat-trick against Gibraltar, Erling Haaland had an outrageous reaction that perfectly sums up his competitive nature.

Erling Haaland is just as inevitable to football as mother nature is to the world, his most recent hat-trick proves it. Numbers-wise, the Norway sensation is already 12 goals deep into his first 15 matches played for his country. For any other player in the world, those numbers are already quite impressive. But for Haaland, he honestly feels he should have more goals than played matches. That alone should tell you all you need to know about this anomaly.

We all remember that day he presented himself to the world during that U-20 World Cup. During that match against Honduras, the youngster scored a staggering 9 goals in a single match. Today after his hat-trick against Gibraltar, he gave us some of that same energy through his statement on TV2: “I do not score enough goals. I’m close to one goal [per game] on average. I personally think that I should have had more goals than matches. Of course scoring the hat-trick was liberating. But I could’ve scored six goals tonight.”

Haaland is starting to match legendary strikers.

On the all-time list of players who have scored the most goals at the age of 21, Erling Haaland is getting closer to the Top-3. Three Brazilians top the list, which is no surprise. We have Neymar in third with 145 goals scored at the age of 21. There is Romario with 168 goals scored at that age. But at the top, we have King Pele’s 219 goals. However, the most outrageous aspect of this is that Haaland already has 124 scored goals and he just turned 21.

He has almost a full year to get a little closer to the top of this list. It appears that at this pace, he might even get to obliterate the numbers that Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have been putting in for the last decade. Erling Haaland is a force of nature that the world of football needs to enjoy while he is still banging the goals in. It’s truly a sight to behold when he gets his ‘Beast Mode’ on.
