There was a curious moment in which Erling Haaland reacted to Borussia Dortmund’s current asking price for any club that wants him.
We always wondered what Erling Haaland thinks about the asking price Borussia Dortmund is placing on him for the rest of the clubs in Europe. As one of the most coveted players in the world, the Norway international understands that clubs pay money for all the goals he scores. However, Erling also understands he hasn’t done much apart from the records he’s broken thus far. In hindsight, Erling Haaland’s price shouldn’t be above €100 million but Borussia Dortmund is currently asking for €175 million.
This is obviously a message to all clubs that Dortmund isn’t willing to sell their best player yet. But when asked about Chelsea’s recent €150 million offer being rejected, this is what Haaland told a reporter from Sky Germany: “Before yesterday I haven’t talked to my agent in a month… you have to tell me. But I hope they are just rumours, as €175m would be a lot of money for one person.”
What else did Haaland say?
The reporter spoke to talkSPORT in London about Chelsea’s rejected offer. He has direct contact with Haaland and revealed that the young player is eager to know if he is leaving this summer or not. Even though Borussia Dortmund isn’t willing to sell, an offer above €150 million would certainly convince them to let their player leave.
This is what the reporter said about Haaland’s interest in the rumors about his future: “I had a little chat with him today, actually. He just passed by and asked me, ‘Hey are there any news about me?’ I said, ‘No, actually, no. Chelsea still at £150 [million].’ And he was smiling and said, ‘No, I’m not that worth’.”
