With his two goals against Club Brugges, Erling Haaland reached one of Brazil’s biggest legends Champions League record.

Erling Haaland never imagined he would reach one of Brazil’s biggest legend’s Champions League record at age 20. The Norwegian star even has a very specific celebration that he made his own in a very unique style. It’s been a few months since he started doing this. Every time he scores, he runs fast and then jumps trying to fall on his behind. The folks at EA Sports are quick to capture these idiosyncrasies from the best players in the world.

Erling Haaland can already be considered amongst the elite for his insane goal scoring ratio. At age 20, he’s only played 11 Champions League matches and reached 14 goals with tonight’s brace. Those are numbers that very few players can imagine and no other star did before him at the same age. A number that a legendary Brazilian scored throughout his entire career and he is considered one of the all-time greats.

We are talking about Ronaldo Nazario, a player everybody considers the best center-forward in football history. Despite having an outstanding career, the ‘Fenomeno’ was never great in the Champions League. Those 14 goals came in a total 40 matches played between all the clubs he represented.

Haaland tops an all-time list after tonight.

With his 14 goals in 11 matches, Erling Haaland also reached an all-time list that he completely obliterated. He ranks first as the player to reach this number faster than any other footballer in Champions League history. Before he accomplished this feat, Harry Kane did it in 17 matches. Before the English striker, Ruud van Nistelrooy scored 14 goals in his first 18 games.

It’s still too soon to say how far Erling Haaland will get throughout his career. However, we can already tell you that we are in the presence of a generational talent who came here to stay. We don’t think he will last further than two more seasons as a Borussia Dortmund player before a bigger club comes to pay top dollar for him. Erling Haaland is that good of a player and nobody can say otherwise. Today he proved it once again with another Champions League brace.
