After suffering a cardiac arrest in Euro 2020 last month, Christian Eriksen has been pictured for the first time in public.

A young fan has shared a picture of Christian Eriksen out in public for the first time since he left the hospital.

The 29-year-old was discharged from the hospital on June 18 after suffering a cardiac arrest in Denmark’s Euro 2020 opener against Finland in Copenhagen six days earlier.

Eriksen, who has been fitted with an ICD heart-starting device, has since been recovering with his family in Odense, Denmark.

On Friday, however, the Inter Milan midfielder visited Tisvilde beach – a seaside resort within striking distance of Copenhagen – and posed for a picture with a 11-year-old boy named Bjorn Bindzus.

“I was nervous and completely speechless when I had to ask about the picture,” the boy later told B.T.

“But I’m proud that I did it and I’m very happy today.

“We were at a photoshoot for a commercial when I suddenly saw him while we were having lunch.

“So I waited to ask him until he had finished talking to his girlfriend. And he said yes right away.

“I didn’t see the incident against Finland, but he looked healthy. It was really nice to see.

“I mostly watch football when the national team is playing, and here my favorite player is without a doubt Christian Eriksen. I’m proud of myself that I have that image.”
