The Ajax manager has been touted as a potential replacement for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United.

Erik ten Hag has stressed that he is happy and committed at Ajax amid reports linking him to the Premier League.

The Dutchman has impressed since taking charge of Ajax in December 2017. In almost four years, he has led the club to four trophies, including consecutive Eredivisie titles, and won 135 of his 184 games (D24 L25).

Ten Hag, who also famously guided Ajax to the Champions League semi-finals in 2018/19, is reportedly a frontrunner to replace an under-fire Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Reports had also linked him with Newcastle until the Magpies appointed Eddie Howe instead.

Ten Hag committed to Ajax

“I live in the present, so I find it hard to answer this,” Ten Hag told ESPN in response to these reports.

“I always want to improve my team, and as long as I feel this motivation I want to keep going if Ajax wants that too.”

When asked why he wouldn’t have coached Newcastle, Ten Hag replied: “Because I am happy at Ajax. I have a very good relationship with the board and I’m managing a very strong squad.”
