Manchester United star Eric Bailly gave an update on what initially looked like he suffered an injury on international duty with Ivory Coast.
Manchester United fans can breathe themselves a huge sigh of relief after the latest update from Eric Bailly.
The defender was replaced after 70 minutes of Ivory Coast’s 1-1 draw with Belgium on Thursday night.
While going off the pitch, Bailly appeared to be holding his right foot like he was in pain. As expected, rumors already made the rounds that the defender had suffered a hamstring injury.
It was all the more painful considering the Ivorian only just recovered from a recent injury. He made his first league start for United in their 6-1 thrashing at the hands of Tottenham.
Seeing news of his supposed injury already all over social media, Bailly calmed all the tension by revealing he was not injured after the game.
“Thank you for worrying about me but I’m doing well, it’s just fatigue,” he wrote on Instagram.
“Goodnight to you all and God protect us. Congratulations to my team for the match against the team ranked first in the world by FIFA.”
Ivory Coast will next face off with Japan in another friendly in Utrecht on Tuesday.
If Bailly avoids any injury with his national side, he is expected to keep his place in United defence when they take on Newcastle on the 17th of October.
