The Citizens moved three points past Liverpool after a crucial win over the Magpies.

Pep Guardiola has claimed ‘everyone in the country’ wants Liverpool to win the Premier League title in the final weeks of the campaign.

Man City crushed Newcastle 5-0 with an incredible attacking performance to increase their lead over the Reds to three points.

Speaking after the game, the Spaniard suggested his side doesn’t get the support they deserve in the title race.

“Everyone in this country supports Liverpool, the media and everyone,” the ex-Barcelona boss told beIN Sports.

“Of course, Liverpool has an incredible history behind it with European competitions. Not in the Premier League…[they’ve] won one in 30 years, but it’s no a problem at all.

“The situation is what it is, we have to do nine points or maybe six right now, it depends on what happens in the next two games in terms of goal difference.

“Now Wednesday is a real, real, real, real final for us, and we are going to try and go there [Wolves] to win.

“Our destiny is in our own hands, this is important and we have to look at ourselves. Whether it’s one point or three, nothing changes. We have to do it.”

The Citizens must face Wolves, West Ham, and Aston Villa in their remaining league fixtures.

On the other hand, Liverpool see Aston Villa, Southampton and Wolves as their next opponents. However, the Reds’ busier schedule might give City a slight advantage in their efforts to win the club’s eighth league title.
