The Three Lions hope to avoid another heartbreak in their next European tournament.

Jude Bellingham believes England “shouldn’t be afraid” to count themselves among Euro 2024 favourties.

The former Birmingham star has enjoyed a quick rise to stardom in recent seasons, becoming a cornerstone of England’s lineup at only 20 years old.

As the Three Lions prepare for the 2024 Euros, Bellingham is confident of his side’s quality.

Asked by ITV News about England’s goal for the next year, he replied: “It has to be to win the European championships in Germany.

“We shouldn’t be afraid to say we should want to go to Germany and try and win the tournament. I don’t really care about bookies’ favourites, it’s all about how the team performs on any given day.

“We can do that; we have a good enough squad I believe.”

England reached the Euro 2020 final on home soil, but a frustrating defeat against Italy prevented them from lifting the trophy. Gareth Southgate still has almost all of the main players from that squad to push for a major trophy again in Germany.

As Bellingham continues to shine for Real Madrid, he’s expected to play a major role in England’s plans for Euro 2024.
