A dominant first-half display was enough to ensure the Three Lions’ win at Wembley.

England defeated Ukraine 2-0 in their Euro 2024 qualifier on Sunday. Harry Kane found the back of the net as Gareth Southgate’s side claimed an easy win.

England secure top spot in Group C

The Three Lions came into the game on the back of their narrow win over Italy earlier this week.

Similar to that game, Southgate’s men found a solid start to the game, putting their opponents under pressure from the first moment.

Following a few missed chances, Kane finally broke the deadlock in the 37th minute. England’s new all-time top-scorer converted Bukayo Saka’s brilliant cross with a smart touch from close range to put his side ahead.

Saka then completed his brilliant performance by doubling England’s lead only three minutes later. A stunning shot from behind the box saw the in-form Arsenal star score his eighth goal for the Three Lions.

The visitors failed to mount a comeback in the second half as England remained in charge of the game. Southgate’s men maintained the pressure on Ukraine’s backline until the final whistle.

However, they weren’t able to convert their chances, settling for a 2-0 win on home soil.
