Let’s take a look at the player ratings from the Group D FIFA Women’s World Cup match at the Allianz Stadium.

On Friday, England and Denmark played their second game of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The two teams entered the contest level on three points at the top of the Group D table. They each claimed 1-0 wins in their opening games. Another low-goal affair was expected for their showdown in Sydney.

That proved to be the case, with England grabbing a nail-biting 1-0 victory. Lauren James curled home the decisive goal in the sixth minute from 22 yards out. Her strike secured the Lionesses a spot in the knockout stages and a three-point lead in Group D. It wasn’t the most convincing of victories, but a win is a win at the end of the day.

England will wrap up their group campaign on Tuesday against China in Hindmarsh. They need just one point to win Group D. Meanwhile, Denmark will head to Perth to face Haiti.
