The Gunners are spending a busy transfer window ahead of the next season.
Emile Smith Rowe is impressed by Arsenal’s efforts to bolster their squad this summer.
The Gunners will return to the Champions League on the back of a second-place finish in the Premier League. The title race won’t get any easier next season, so Arsenal have started improving their squad.
A record-breaking deal for Declan Rice is imminent, while Arsenal have already added Kai Havertz to their ranks. The London giants are also on the verge of completing a move for Ajax’s Jurrien Timber, who is set to join their backline.
“I see what happens and obviously it’s good for the club to add strength to the team,” Smith Rowe, who is participating in U21 Euros, said on Saturday.
“I feel like the additions we’re making are going to really help the team progress again.
“It’s really exciting so hopefully we can go one step further next season.”
Havertz has become Arsenal’s new top earner after his summer move from Chelsea. Most observers expect the German star to play a key role in Mikel Arteta’s plans next season.
But Smith Rowe is glad to have more competition in the squad.
He added: “You’ve just got to get on with it. I’ve got to keep working hard, and it’s healthy competition. I’ve got to keep fighting.”
