Fernando Garcia has confirmed Inter Milan’s interest in Emerson Palmieri while discussing the player’s position at Chelsea.

Chelsea’s Emerson Palmieri was limited to just 21 appearances across all competitions in 2019/20 as he struggled to assert himself under Frank Lampard.

The 26-year old defender, who cost the Blues around €18 million in January 2018, has hence been deemed surplus to requirements by Lampard.

He has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge for some time now, but his future has looked even more uncertain ever since the arrival of Ben Chilwell.

Inter Milan are most actively linked with the signing of the Italian-Brazilian, with Juventus and Napoli also reportedly showing interest.

It is said that Antonio Conte is keen on reuniting with the fullback, having worked with him during his time at Chelsea in the 2018/19 season.

Emerson’s representative recently confirmed the rumors but says he is yet to hold discussions regarding a move with Chelsea.

“Is it possible that he will leave Chelsea? Yes, this possibility exists,” stated Fernando Garcia said in an interview with FCInter08.

“I have not yet spoken to the club. I can only say that Inter are interested in the player. We will see.”
